How Do We Make our Cold Pressed Coconut Oil?

How Do We Make our Cold Pressed Coconut Oil?

Jeev Goodness Cold Pressed Coconut oil is manufactured through a traditional method which helps retain purity and freshness.

We use highest quality sulphur-free copras from our own farm in Pollachi region, Tamil Nadu. These copras are naturally dried in sunlight for a number of days to remove the moisture without adding Sulphur. The copras are then pressed and oil is extracted through a slow cold-pressing machine (Chekku/Ghani) at low RPM so that the temperature does not create any heat in the oil. This extraction process does not involve any chemical agents and hence all the natural proteins and vitamins are retained. We also don't add any preservatives during the process.

Extracted oil is allowed to naturally settle for 14-21 days without the use of any man made filter (including cloth), which ensures the oil is naturally filtered. The top clear layer is the highest quality of oil, which is bottled for our customers.

This slow, long drawn process gives our coconut oil the clear transparent look that all of us love and further retains nutrients that are immensely beneficial for our immune system.

What are the three must have cooking oils?

In our view we would recommend these oils to be added to your staple grocery list

    1. Coconut oil for its numerous health benefits is a great choice for slow cooking at low heat points. Also is a great addition to your vanity kit being a great skin and hair conditioner
    2. Depending upon where you live (eat local, as they say), regional preferences, and taste, we recommend either a Sesame oil or Mustard oil or Groundnut oil
    3. You can also use Cold Pressed Sunflower oil (Industrial Sunflower Oil that you get in the market is a big no no) due to its versatility and high smoke point. It's ideal for drop frying and dishes where we want a neutral taste including continental cooking
